Specialty Diver

PADI SEARCH AND RECOVERY DIVER

Course Objective:

Learn search and recovery dive planning, organization,  procedures, techniques and use of equipment. Techniques include searching in limited visibility, search patterns, and safe object recovery using lift devices.

Requirements: 

·        Minimum age 12

·        PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Advanced Open Water

Diver

• Or PADI Open Water or Junior Open Water and PADI Underwater Navigation certifications (Or equivalent certification from another organization)

Time Requirement:        1-2 hrs class room (after self-study-read Course material)

                                    Minimum Open Water Training: four dives over two days

Course Materials:         PADI Search and Recovery- Pak which includes manual, video, and log insert.

Course Goals:

·                    Learn how to plan, organize, and deal with potential problems of a search  recovery dive

·                    Know the procedures and techniques of search and recovery diving

·                    Know how to properly use lift devices to safely recovery heavy objects

·                    Practice buoyancy, navigation, and buddy communication

·                    The proper use of lines and other special equipment necessary for search and recovery dives

Specialty Recognition: Certification card, Patch, and Certificate.  Specialty certification qualifies for Master Scuba Diver certification. 

Your Adventures in Search and Recovery Dive counts towards one of your Specialty  for certification as a search and recovery diver.
